Summary:

Henry Eyring (1835-1902) was a German emigrant who joined the Church in St. Louis, Missouri. He served a mission to the Cherokee Nation from 1855 to 1860. He separated from his Creek half breed wife and was prompted by a dream to leave his mission without a formal release. He traveled with the Murphy company to Utah, courting a German-speaking emigrant who he married after arriving in Salt Lake.
