    Summary:

    In 1886 President John Taylor called together a committee to provide a musical supplement to the Manchester Hymnal. The result was the Latter-day Saints' Psalmody, which was published in Salt Lake City in 1889 and went through six more editions. The Psalmody emphasized home composition.
