Summary:

Account of his life to 1857, including information about his experiences as a young man in northern England, his 1841 emigration to Nauvoo, Illinois, his experiences in Nauvoo and later in Kanesville, Iowa, his 1852 journey to Utah, his initial settlement at Nephi, and his participation in the Carson Valley Mission, 1855 and 1856-1857, ending with his return to Utah.
