    Book A contains record of land transactions for Nauvoo, related to the White, Hotchkiss, and Galland purchases. Includes sales and rentals. Recorded by Church agents and clerks James Mulholland, Henry G. Sherwood, Robert B. Thompson, John S. Fullmer, William Clayton, and Willard Richards. Volume was first used as a ledger for H. Smith & Co. store in Kirtland, Ohio, July-November 1836, recording accounts with Joseph Smith and others. Accounts were logged by Joseph C. Kingsbury and balanced by Vinson Knight through May 1837. The store's daybook is available in MS 8124. Book A contains record of land transactions for Nauvoo, particularly related to the White, Hotchkiss, and Galland purchases. Lists lands owned by Joseph Smith. Records exchange offers and includes plat maps. Recorded by William Clayton, Willard Richards, and later trustees and clerks through 1848.
