Summary:

Account dictated by Rollins to his daughter, Mary A. Osborn, focusing on his memories of Joseph Smith, 1831-1844, with additional information about his subsequent life.

This version was rewritten by two other Rollins daughters, Ida M. Rollins Hamblin and Melissa R. Lee Heyborne, in September 1924. Hamblin added a paragraph at the end of the reminiscence regarding the deaths of her parents, in 1899 and 1912, respectively.

This typescript was prepared in 1981 by descendant Deon C. Smith from a difficult-to-read photocopy then held by the Historical Department and apparently differs from the typescript cataloged as MS 3484 primarily in its inclusion of a photocopy of Rollins's 1854 bond as city treasurer of San Bernardino, California.
