    Charles Turner journals, 1854-1910


    Account of Turner's church activities and missionary work in the British Mission in England and Scotland, emigration to Utah in 1861, and farming, ranching, and family activities in Morgan, Utah. Turner served as bishop of South Morgan Ward, 1877-1906, and as patriarch of Morgan Stake, 1906-1910. Volume 11 contains reminiscent account of his life.

    Volume 10 includes diary entries of John W. Clampitt, special postal agent for Montana and adjoining territories who visited Salt Lake City on assignment. Clampitt's entries are dated 22 October-31 December 1867. Turner was employed by postal department and used Clampitt's partial diary to continue his own.
