Companies were under command of Colonel Philip St. George Cooke. Reports for March 1847 include that of Company A, prepared by Captain Jefferson Hunt; Company B, signed by Captain Jesse D. Hunter; Company D, signed by First Lieutenant George P. Dykes; Company E, signed by Captain Daniel C. Davis; and Battalion return signed by Colonel Cooke, who also signed San Luis Rey return.
